Join our team as a Project Engineer for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Tactical team where you will work on the development of a sophisticated avionics product in a world class development environment.  You will be involved in planning, tracking, and executing avionics work scope and program execution.

Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.  The starting location is in Englewood, CO, but is expected to transition to the Waterton campus in Littleton, CO within 2 years.

 

What does this role look like?

The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. The Project Engineer is an individual contributor on the LE2 – Flight Control and Networks team.  Work is performed under the direction of senior project engineers and is focused on delivering hardware and software within budget and on schedule. This role blends project management, reporting key development metrics, and driving the team to execute on the plan in a fast‑paced, mission‑oriented environment.

 

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

• Engage with cross-functional program teams including planning, finance, and engineering to status and drive execution of program plans.

• Report Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics to Senior leadership.

• Resolve any technical, financial, or schedule issues that may arise.

• Support staffing and resource updates.

 

To be effective in this role, you will need:

• While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

• Experience in different phases of hardware or software development cycles.

• 3+ years professional experience as a project manager or similar position.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.

• Experience leading projects, teams, and development efforts.

• Experience in project management principles (Cost/Schedule/Technical).

• Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).

• You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Skills

• Experience leading projects, teams, and development efforts.

• Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)

• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

• Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope.

• Experience creating objectives and plans for complex engineering development programs.

• 3+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.

• Missile or space segment experience.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
