THE WORK
The Lockheed Martin Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking a Project Engineer Sr. – Logistics Product Data (LPD) to work from our Huntsville, AL location. This role will focus on the creation, maintenance, and analysis of product data that underpins logistics and sustainment for the NGI missile‑defense system. You will work closely with systems engineers, supply‑chain specialists, and the Product Support team to ensure that all logistics‑related product data are accurate, complete, and readily available throughout the system lifecycle.

As a member of the NGI team, you will perform tasks related to the development of the overall system. You should have an understanding of the key system subject areas with the opportunity to work in all fields to include systems definition, allocation, maintenance, verification/validation, system integration, analysis, and test.

1. Product Data Management    Develop, curate, and maintain the Logistics Product Data repository (e.g., BOMs, part catalogs, configuration baselines) in accordance with GEIA‑STD‑0007 and other applicable standards.   Perform data validation and reconciliation across engineering, manufacturing, and supply‑chain systems (e.g., SLICwaveLC, COMPASS for LORA Development).

2. Supportability & Sustainment Planning    Contribute to Logistics Support Analyses (LSA) and Life‑Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP) by providing accurate product data inputs.   Assist the Product Support team in generating and updating Product Hazard, Safety, & Technical (PHS&T) documentation that relies on LPD.

3. Data Integration & Reporting    Coordinate integration of product data into the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables, ensuring timely and compliant submission.   Create and maintain dashboards/reports that track data quality metrics, change status, and configuration control.

4. Cross‑Team Collaboration    Act as the primary liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and logistics groups to align data definitions and resolve discrepancies.   Participate in proposal and design reviews to provide LPD expertise and support technical decision‑making.

5. Continuous Improvement    Identify opportunities to automate data capture and management processes (e.g., scripting, database tools).   Drive best‑practice adoption for data governance, configuration management, and traceability. Basic Qualifications

Experience with logistics product data development and management, preferably in a defense or aerospace environment.

Familiarity with GEIA‑STD‑0007, CDRL processes, and logistics support analysis methods.

Proficiency with data‑management tools such as SLICwaveLC, COMPASS, or comparable enterprise systems.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Proactive mindset with a focus on data integrity and continuous improvement.

 

Desired Skills

Direct involvement in creating or maintaining Logistics Product Data for complex weapon systems.

Exposure to MIL‑STD‑1613, MIL‑STD‑1388, or related logistics data standards.

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., PLM, ERP) and scripting languages for data automation.

Knowledge of sustainment planning (LCSP, PHS&T) and the logistics support analysis process.

Active Secret is desired. 

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
