Standard Job Description

This position is for a Mission Assurance Systems Project Engineer Sr Stf, supporting F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and Integrated Fighter Group (IFG) platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating across engineering teams, ensuring program requirements are met, and delivering project development and process improvements. The candidate must possess experience and initiative to ensure integration of Cost and Schedule for mission assurance software and architecture teams, generate and maintain technical roadmaps, and process/metric generation. The applicant must be a proven problem‑solver who can multi‑task in a complex interrelated environment.

 

Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintaining the technical, cost and schedule aspects of all applicable contracts of the team. 
  • Assisting project managers and leadership with monitoring and evaluating project progress and problem solving, including developing and assisting in managing detailed project plans, timelines, and technical content. 
  • Reviewing the status of projects and budgets, support and cost inquiries, variance documentation, critical path and forecast misses, annual comprehensive estimate at completion (CEAC) efforts, and new business proposals. 
  • Collaborating with all levels of personnel within the Team, other functional departments, programs, and government personnel. 
  • Providing earned value performance and EAC assessments, risks and opportunities and implementing approved risk handling plans. 
  • Participating in all required reviews and audits with the customer, government, DCMA, etc. 
  • Collecting information and generating technical roadmaps to reflect program performance. 
  • Generating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) with support of the team. 
  • Serving as a Control Account Manager (CAM) on the team and supporting the greater team with their day-to-day roles. 
  • Ensure development activities, accomplishments, and issues are communicated to the Mission Assurance Senior Manager and Director. 
  • Drive continuous improvements, technical solutions, change management, and risk assessments. 

 

Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college/university
  • 10+ years of related experience in project planning, project engineering, and/or program management
  • 5+ years of experience planning, bidding, executing, and reporting agile software development efforts 
  • Secret clearance with ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

 

Desired Skills

  • Candidate must be available for occasional domestic travel (up to 25 %)
  • Experience with Lockheed Martin's products, systems, and technologies 
  • Experience with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Core Processing Software (CPSW) product
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin's processes and procedures
  • Prior experience managing/leading multi-disciplined development teams
  • Experience with project performance and metric tools such as Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Tableau
  • Experience drafting and submitting proposals, contracts and/or process development and improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
