Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.

 

Focus of this role heavily involves emphasis on Yield Improvement Team activities for a specific program site. As the YIT lead for the program site, will be responsible for leading the cross functional yield improvement team to include review, identification, and driving action plans of yield top drivers. Will be responsible for driving and collaborating with this YIT team during working group meetings and pitching action plan progress at various forums such as Corrective Action Board and Program Executive YIT. 

 

Other Responsibilities Include:

Supporting Integrated Product Teams and various production sites with reviews of quality data on failures, yields, rework, scrap, and non-conformance aging

Reviewing documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer

Ability to analyze and resolve design, manufacturing, and process issues varying from basic to very complex and technically challenging

Attending program corrective action meetings, identifying trends, assisting in problem resolution and ensuring responsible parties meet requirements and commitments

Participating as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which include dispositioning of non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence

Performing assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100

Evaluating the design assurance activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality

Interfacing with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality related issues

Making the final decision on acceptability of product

Basic Qualifications

Technical Engineering degree in a Technical, Industrial, or Quality Assurance related field at the Bachelor level or above

Experience leading cross functional yield improvement activities to include review, identification, and driving action plans of yield top drivers

Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, and Contracts that will enable review of Quality Engineering processes, inspections, root causal analysis, problem solving, and taking action on related Performance Metrics

Root causal analysis experience and demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical or process issues varying from basic to very complex

Experience in disposition of non-conforming material or products

Desired Skills

Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt)

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CSQ) and / or Certified Quality Improvement associate (CQIA)

Thorough understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

Well versed in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Ability to travel

Effective communication skills: written, oral, listening, and technical writing

Effective interpersonal skills including team building and collaboration

Leadership and customer relationship management skills

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
