You will be the Quality Engineer Staff for the PrSM Program Quality Engineering Team. Our team is responsible for leading Transition to Production efforts for the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) production, driving continuous improvement initiatives, root cause and corrective actions, and ensuring aerospace quality standards across Lockheed Martin sites and suppliers.

 

What You Will Be Doing

As the Quality Engineer Staff you will be responsible for overseeing quality processes, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and supporting hybrid on‑site/remote operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Participate and lead Affordability/Efficiency projects
  • Leading quality initiatives within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) 
  • Leading investigations to resolve transition to production issues.
  • Develop and implement inspection plans at LM sites and Suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and other aerospace standards.
  • Support travel to production sites and/or Supplier as needed.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting for quality metrics.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • 5 years of professional experience in quality engineering (aerospace, defense, or related high‑integrity manufacturing) and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related STEM field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25 % of the time for supplier‑site visits, audits, or project support
  • Demonstrated expertise with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001), including the creation of inspection plans, execution of First‑Article Inspections to AS9102, and management of special‑process compliance
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, applying GD&T, and conducting mechanical/electrical inspections of complex machined parts, castings, composites, PCBs, cable/harness assemblies, and optical components; capable of identifying supplier quality deficiencies and driving effective corrective actions
  • Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment that requires prolonged standing and the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (protective footwear, eye/hearing protection, etc.)

Desired Skills

  • Experience with MFC Apriso or other P2P business systems
  • Proven ability to lead source inspections, special‑process surveys, purchase‑order reviews, and supplier surveillance activities
  • Demonstrated leadership and customer‑relationship management across cross‑functional teams and external suppliers
  • Knowledge of tooling processes (casting, additive manufacturing) and structured/blue‑light inspection techniques
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or higher) with documented application of continuous‑improvement projects
  • GD&T training or certification and/or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) designation

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
