Standard Job Description

Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, cleaning, repair, adjustment, and improvement activities on coating sputter equipment and related manufacturing support systems. Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, cooling, tooling, utility, and basic controls-related issues. Replaces and adjusts components, verifies proper equipment operation, supports recovery from equipment failures, and assists with root cause analysis to reduce downtime and repeat issues.

Uses hand tools, power tools, meters, test equipment, manuals, procedures, drawings, schematics, and equipment logs to perform intermediate to advanced troubleshooting. May perform electrical checks, sensor replacement, interlock verification, PLC input/output checks, and other controls-related tasks when properly trained and authorized.

Supports engineering, production, facilities, and equipment owners with non-routine repairs, tool upgrades, process support issues, equipment monitoring improvements, and corrective actions. May provide guidance to junior technicians, support training, and help ensure maintenance work is completed safely, accurately, and with minimal production impact.

Basic Qualifications

  • Prior hands-on experience maintaining manufacturing, semiconductor, vacuum, coating, sputter, or similar production equipment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of vacuum, pneumatic, cooling, tooling, and utility-related systems.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, meters, test equipment, and standard maintenance documentation.
  • Experience following written procedures, interpreting drawings or manuals, and documenting work accurately.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting equipment issues independently and escalating appropriately.

Desired Skills

Experience with coating sputter tools, vacuum pumps, turbo pumps, chillers, PCW systems, gas delivery support systems, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, interlocks, and industrial electrical systems.

Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs, spare parts identification, inventory control, equipment reliability improvements, and maintenance documentation updates.

Ability to train, guide, or mentor junior technicians.

Familiarity with CMMS, MES, asset numbering, equipment history tracking, inventory control systems, and maintenance planning systems.

Willingness to support off-shift, weekend, or urgent maintenance activities as business needs require.

Full-Time Salary Range: $56600.00 - $105000.00
