What We're Doing
Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.
The Work
The Cyber Security Engineer (ISSE) will tune, and optimize cybersecurity tools such as ESS, Elastic, ConfigOS, and Tanium to enhance system performance and threat detection capabilities. Will be responsible for creating custom dashboards to visualize security data, ensuring quick identification of issues and trends. Will also integrate various security products, ensuring seamless communication and data flow across the infrastructure. Key tasks include troubleshooting and resolving issues related to these tools, as well as managing upgrades and deployments to ensure the latest features and security patches are implemented effectively.

As leaders of the C2BMC team, Lockheed Martin partners with industry leaders to develop and field the backbone of America’s missile defense. Our national team supports the design, development, testing, integration, and fielding of hardware and software elements essential for the effective operation of the Missile Defense System (MDS). You will have opportunities to interface directly with key customers, including the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
At C2BMC, you will work alongside a talented team of technical professionals, including software and systems engineers, architects, and project engineering teams, at our Federal Drive location in the northern part of Colorado Springs. Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline. 3+ plus years of related experience with a Masters degree.
- Applicants must have a current, active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their 8140 certifications throughout the entire contract period
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope Government-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
- Windows/RHEL system administration experience, installing, tuning, and troubleshooting Cyber Tools, including ESS/HBSS, ConfigOS, Splunk/Elastic, etc.
Configuring, running, and scripting audit tools - Knowledge of Software Assurance (SwA) static and dynamic code analysis (e.g., Fortify)
Desired Skills
Experience supporting DoD weapon systems, aviation platforms, or classified mission systems.
- Experience with Containerization technologies
- Experience with Virtualization platforms/hypervisors
- Experience implementing container security and Kubernetes hardening
- Familiarity with SIEM Tools deployment and administration
- Experience with Zero Trust architecture and cyber resiliency engineering
- Experience supporting environmental handling:
- Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
- Air-gapped or disconnected systems
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
