The Opportunity

At Lockheed Martin, our ESH Advisors partner with, influence and provide practical support to leaders and employees to promote proactive safety and environmental initiatives that protect the health and wellbeing of employees and support safe, compliant and effective operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to provide professional advice and guidance to build a strong ESH culture.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to drive consistent implementation of the ESH management system.
  • Support the development and implementation of robust ESH policies, processes, procedures, training and risk management practices.
  • Coordinate and conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections and investigations into incidents, injuries and hazards, leading to effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Promote a proactive approach to ESH that keeps our people safe, ensures legislative and company compliance, and protects our environment.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Experience in implementing and/or auditing ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems would be an advantage
  • Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) certification (desirable).

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Senior-level ESH experience, with a strong focus on partnering with leaders and workers to deliver practical, effective solutions.
  • Proven experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of risk assessment, safety auditing, compliance and ESH management systems.
  • Proven track record of influencing culture to drive positive workplace behaviours?
  • Confident analysing ESH data and reporting to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Experience delivering ESH improvements across a medium to large organisation, ideally across multiple sites.

Special Requirements

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Defence Security Clearance by meeting one of the following criteria:

  • A NZ citizen, OR
  • A NZ Permanent Resident who has resided in NZ for the past 5 years OR
  • A citizen of Australia, Canada, UK or the USA who has a current work permit for NZ.
