Standard Job Description

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with Java, Python, or other modern coding languages
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and/or React
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc) and/or Gitlab
  • Experience with Git-based workflows
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShiftContainer development, deployment, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with pods, deployments, services, secrets/configmaps, and resource limits Python and/or Bash scripting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills

  • STEM Bachelors degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Computer Engineering with a software development focus
  • Demonstrated experience using key Python libraries and frameworks, such as NumPy, pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib/Seaborn, Flask/Django, Requests, SQLAlchemy, and pytest (or equivalent testing tools). Ability to select the appropriate library for data manipulation, scientific computing, web services, or automation tasks.
  • Hands-on Linux/RHEL administration and troubleshooting
  • Argo CD/OpenShift GitOps, Helm, and/or Kustomize
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, or similar monitoring/observability platforms
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar infrastructure-as-code/configuration-management tools
  • RBAC, secrets management, TLS, OIDC/Keycloak, and enterprise security practices
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes networking, service mesh, or GPU/AI infrastructure
  • Familiarity with LLM and/or Agentic code development

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
