THE WORK
Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented Level 2 ground Software Engineer with an active Final Top Secret security clearance to work from either our King of Prussia, PA or Littleton, CO location(s).
This position is contingent upon the program award expected in October, 2026.
We are looking for software engineers to craft and build innovative solutions for our customers. You will be part of an Agile team that utilizes state of the art commercial standard methodologies such as DevSecOps (automated testing, continuous integration, automated deployment, etc.) and modern development tools.
Standard Job Description
- Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
- Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
- Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
- Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Ensures software standards are met.
This is an EMERGING PROFESSIONAL (level 2) ROLE where candidates typically require 1+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.

Basic Qualifications
- Strong Software Development, Software Engineering background, with a track record of successful project delivery
- Experience developing ground subsystems
- Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and teamwork across Agile Development Teams.
- Active TS Clearance required for consideration with the ability to obtain an SCI.
Desired Skills
- Understanding / proficiency in application containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Agile software development experience
- Java\JEE, C# .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Python, GitLab
- Web Development Experience
- Cloud-based technologies
- DevSecOps and CI/CD pipeline experience
- Continuous Integration\Automated Testing\DevOps
- Experience working in Agile teams using SAFe, Scrum, Kanban or other methodologies and/or understanding of Agile development concepts
- Experience designing and documenting microservice-based architectures
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Experience with distributed systems (services and databases)
- Strong background developing /debugging and/or testing of web applications and web services
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
