Standard Job Description

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

 

The ground software depot team is looking for an experienced software engineer to support the Next Gen GEO program's command and control software in operations. This position will work within a 5-6 person agile team to support the command and control product through the transition into and through operations, providing on-demand support as necessary. 

 

In this role you will:

  • Maintain and test the software codebase
  • Coordinate with the Hardware, Network, and DevSecOps teams to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve system issues
  • Work defects and mods to the codebase to deliver a release to the customer
  • Attend root cause analysis and failure reviews, representing the ground command and control team
  • Respond to issues in an on-call posture, including evening and overnight hours as necessary

Basic Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to receive and maintain TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience in software design and development
  • 3+ years of C++/C programming experience
  • Linux OS background/experience developing in a Linux environment

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience with Command and Control software for satellite systems
  • Experience working with DoD customers
  • Experience working at a DoD site
  • Demonstrated understanding of agile development within a scrum team
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00
