Standard Job Description
The Space Software Product Line team is looking for a software manager to oversee the execution of an agile team of software engineers. As the Associate Manager within SSPL you will lead Agile SW development teams responsible for full-lifecycle Flight Software development and Payload Software Integration. The ideal candidate will be someone who can focus on the mission while rapidly modernizing to position for the future and growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the technical design and vision of the SSPL organization
- Guide the software development and test environment, COTS/FOSS hardware and software, and in-house developed software tools - Ensure company command media is followed and advocate continuous process improvement
- Oversee the peer-review process and utilize the associated metrics as evidence of project status and forecasted progress
- Oversee the software problem reporting system and utilize the associated metrics for process improvement
- Coordinate requirements, data, and test case inputs with system engineers and subsystem engineers
- Perform Control Account Manager (CAM) tasks - Plan and supervise project schedules
- Prepare cost estimates and maintain budgets including support of proposals
- Provide regular status briefings to program management. Identify technical, cost, and schedule liabilities

Manages software development activities. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the design, development, documentation, and testing of software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ Years of Software Development
- 3+ Years of Agile Software Development
- 2+ Years of Project management
- 2+ Years of Embedded Software
- Ability and Willingness to present to large audiences
- Willing to Obtain Security Clearance
Desired Skills
- Served as Control Account Manager (CAM)
- Served as Certified Principle Engineer (CPE)
- Serviced Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE)
- Experience with Jira and/or Agility
- Experience with the Rust Programming Language

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
