What You Will Be Doing
As the Software Quality Engineer Sr you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Software Quality Engineering (SSQE) common processes that align with AS9100, CMMI, program and customer requirements.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve SSQE processes.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 Quality Management System and CMMI standards.
- Collaborate with software, systems, supplier, and test engineering teams.
- Support test equipment software and hardware integration activities.
- Facilitate cross‑functional communication with customers and program stakeholders.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Other responsibilities include develop, modify, and apply quality principles to the development and use of software and software-based systems for make and/or buy software products. Perform verification and validation of test equipment including hardware in the loop systems. Develop overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to the project, process, and contract requirements and/or objectives. Design and implement software development and maintenance processes. Define audit strategy to ensure compliance to systems/software processes. Design, specify, and conduct test methods for software inspection, verification, and validation. Evaluate and analyze software quality systems for the deficiency identification and correction. Ensure measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Perform software product reviews against contractual, technical and/or process requirements. Review requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans, and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Perform or direct verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.
Basic Qualifications

Ability to work outside of normal business hours such as weekend support or after 5pm and ability to be on-call when needed to support program milestones
- Ability to to travel to Lockheed Martin sites, supplier locations, and test facilities as needed
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Experience in requirements analysis, design reviews, product integration, and verification/validation (including certification) of hardware‑software test systems
- Demonstrated experience with test equipment and test‑set hardware – including reading schematics, performing hardware inspections, and executing calibration reviews
- Understanding of Systems & Software and Test Equipment processes and development methodologies.
- Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot LabVIEW/TestStand and C/C++ test code to verify that software implementations satisfy system requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) for test documentation and reporting
Desired Skills
- Certified Software Quality Engineer (ASQ CSQE)
- Knowledge of industry‑recognized quality models (CMMI, ISO, AS, FAA regulations)
- Green‑ or Black‑Belt certification in Lean/Six Sigma
- Experience collaborating with software suppliers and Government/DoD customers
- In‑depth expertise with National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand environments (beyond basic code interpretation)
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
