Standard Job Description

You will be the Software Quality Engineer Staff – Team Lead for our team in Grand Prairie, TX. Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining Systems/Software Quality Engineering (SSQE) common processes that align with AS9100 Quality Management System, Capability Maturity Model-Integrated (CMMI), and customer requirements. Our team is also responsible for all aspects of Quality across the program’s lifecycle, including proposals.

Your responsibilities will include:

-   Provide day-to-day oversight of the SSQE team’s daily activities; coordinate SSQE coverage and support by analyzing staffing needs.

-   Lead SSQE process improvement initiatives, develop best practices, create/update role specific guidelines and trainings

-   Mentor and train SSQE team members including new hires, provide productive performance feedback and assist in developing talent by identifying strategic initiatives and stretch opportunities for team members.

-   Be proficient in the areas of proposals, Basis of Estimate (BOE), contract/SOW reviews, program start-up, development and production proposal support.

-   Have an understanding of quality tasks across software, cyber security and test engineering including internal audits and assessments.

-   Collaborate and partner across functions to include the Program Manager, Proposal Manager, Contracts, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production Operations and Customers.

-   Support all proposals for the Guided, Missile, Launcher and Advanced Programs.

-   Assist in establishing quality budgets and cost commitments.

-   Participate in independent reviews including Readiness Acceptance Check (RAC), BOE reviews, customer negotiations, Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits and Executive Leadership Proposals Reviews, as needed.

-   Participate in peer reviews of software and test equipment requirements, design, code and documentation including root cause and corrective action and collaborate with software suppliers and participate in program reviews and testing events at suppliers.

Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

-   Technical Engineering (STEM – Engineering / Science) degree at the Bachelor level or above 

-    Ability to obtain a Secret clearance - DoD Secret

-    8+ years experience and understanding of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Engineering

-    Strong knowledge of creating an accurate, complete, correct, current and competitive Proposals / Basis of Estimate (BOE)

-    Strong knowledge of and experience in creating a proposal using a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Judgement and historical actuals

-    8+ years experience and understanding of Software and Test Equipment Processes

-    8+ years experience  in Requirements, Design, Code and Proof & Validation (P&V) Testing

-    Ability to travel (LM sites, suppliers, testing sites, etc.)

-    Ability to work outside of normal business hours such as weekend support or after 5pm

-    Ability to be on-call when needed to support program milestones  

-    Ability to work onsite to meet program milestones

Desired Skills

  • Technical Engineering (STEM – Engineering / Science) degree at the Bachelor level or above in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • ASQ CSQE (Certified Software Quality Engineer)
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certified
  • Experience with Software Suppliers support of test stations
  • Experience with Government customers (DoD programs) 
  • In-depth knowledge of software C++/C programming language
  • In-depth knowledge of test stations/test sets including validation, verification and certification including LabView and Test Stand
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity quality including vulnerabilities scans, cyber patches, cyber images, etc.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
