Standard Job Description
This is a critical position in Sunnyvale, CA working directly with our internal and external customers. This position will have the responsibility for installing, configuring and maintaining the Secure Communications LAN, WAN and Voice systems supporting Military Space Lines of Business. Candidates will work closely with team members, vendors and will work with Administrative and End user teams to ensure connectivity of primary and backup networks in support of multiple programs. This position may plan Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and hardware upgrades to meet program milestones and coordinate with functional groups with system upgrades and the integration of new capabilities. After- hours support is periodically required and some non-standard work shifts might be required to support periodic system tests, baseline promotions, and other non-critical mission activities.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have active Secret security clearance and possess a Security+ certification or b able to obtain a Security+ certification within 60 to 90 days of hire. There is no telecommuting available or this position. This position is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Servicing multiple government and program users involving design, development installations, maintenance, operations, control, and documentation
- Perform installations and upgrades to Cisco and Juniper operating systems in accordance with established policies, procedures, and agreements
- Participate in customer reviews requiring system impacts or temporary outages
- Participate in customer system testing
- Work closely with System Administration staff to optimize connectivity solutions
Basic Qualifications
Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of network engineering disciplines such as:
- Active Secret clearance
- Knowledge of general networking principles
- Experience with routers, switches, and firewalls
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot network issues
- Design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Secure Communications LAN, WAN and voice systems
- Experience with network monitoring and providing notifications of issues on a daily basis
- Determine root causes of network issues and recommend strategies to prevent recurrences
- Works well in a team environment
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of integration of LDAP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory across network solutions
- Knowledge of patching, Firmware, and IOS upgrades
- Knowledge of Cisco Call Manager and integration with Skype and VTC solutions
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $106600.00 - $198000.00
