Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Strategic Planner Senior to join our Enterprise Strategy team in Littleton, CO! The Strategic Planner supports the development and execution of long-range corporate or business-area strategies that advance growth, profitability, competitiveness, and mission success. This role identifies internal and external factors affecting the organization, evaluates customer budgets and trends, conducts market and financial analysis, and translates insights into actionable strategic and operational plans.
The successful candidate is a highly analytical, collaborative communicator with strong Excel, data-analysis, and PowerPoint capabilities. They can synthesize complex information into clear recommendations for senior leaders and work effectively across business development, finance, operations, engineering, and program teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and communicate internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth, profitability, competitiveness, customer priorities, or market position.
- Maintain market and budget database to understand current and forecasted budgets
- Conduct environmental scanning and market surveillance to identify business opportunities, industry trends, competitive developments, customer needs, policy considerations, and technology shifts.
- Maintain awareness of relevant aerospace, defense, technology, government, customer, and competitive-market developments.
- Perform market research to support strategic decisions, investments, partnerships, and potential acquisition candidates.
- Develop, monitor, and report on profitability, productivity, growth, and other strategic performance targets.
- Create clear, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations that communicate complex analyses, strategic options, recommendations, and performance results.
- Use Excel and other analytical tools to develop models, dashboards, forecasts, scenario analyses, and data-driven insights.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders—including finance, business development, operations, program management, engineering, and leadership—to align strategic priorities and execution plans.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of experience in strategic planning, corporate strategy, business development, financial planning and analysis, consulting, program management, operations, or a related analytical role.
- Exceptional Powerpoint and strong Excel skills - demonstrated experience maintaining large database
- Experience using Powerpoint to communicate strategic insights, recommendations, and other complex ideas to executive level audiences
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
Desired Skills
- Master's degree in a related discipline
- Direct experience in or exposure to strategic planning or competitive intelligence
- Experience working in market forecasting or US Department of War Budget analysis
- Space, Aerospace & Defense, or related technology/manufacturing sector experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
