Standard Job Description

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2027 Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Intern.  In this role, the selected candidate will work closely with site Facilities Engineering team to perform duties such as:

  • Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction.
  • Review and estimate design costs.
  • Review estimates for construction cost for adherence to design drawings

The successful candidate must be a US Citizen.

Basic Qualifications

  • Inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Work independently, under direction, and as a supporting member of the design team.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited 4-yr college program pursuing a degree in Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and architectural drafting
  • Experience in other computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desired Skills

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering student
  • Knowledge of engineering design and construction
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; enjoys to work as a team player in a creative, fast paced atmosphere.
  • Knowledge in the bidding and review process
  • Knowledge in project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and some project cost estimating.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $22.66 - $31.67

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
