Become a valued member of the Loads & Dynamics central function organization! In this role, you will:
• Perform structural dynamic analyses for missile and spacecraft flight hardware
• Provide technical guidance to programs in their planning and execution of structural analysis and test
• Produce and maintain models generated from both in-house and commercially available software codes, that simulate mechanical loading conditions, mechanism deployment motions, and the response behavior of mission events.
• Perform loads development (primary structure and component level), shock and vibration environments determination and component and system level testing and data evaluation.
• Prepare test plans; vibration, modal and shock test execution, and post-test reports. You will be an important part of our product development team, where effective communication is critical.
• Have the ability to work with a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems.
• Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts.
• Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews
• Provide review, interpretation, flow down, and implementation of program requirements, and plan tasks and review budget and schedule to reduce cost and cycle time

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
Basic Qualifications
• Experience in structural dynamics, through education, research, or practical experience
• Practical and applied experience with vibration, modal, acoustic, or dynamic testing and analysis
• Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as NASTRAN, NX, or similar modeling software
• Working knowledge of structural analysis principles, including simplified methods (e.g., hand calculations or lumped-parameter modeling)
• Exposure to engineering analysis supporting any stage of product development—from early concepts to detailed design
• Active or Current Top Secret clearance; US Citizenship Required
Desired Skills
• A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience working in the defense industry with practical hands on experience
•Experience with missile test programs and investigating anomalies
• Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
• Experience evaluating designs using rigid body or flexible body analysis methods and tools
• Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience
• Experience with NX/Nastran, Abaqus, ADAMS, LS-Dyna, Matlab, Mathcad and CREO
• Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock test experience of aerospace flight hardware
•Creativity/innovation to tackle issues related to anomalous performance of any aspect of a mechanical system

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
