Performs assignments in technical/engineering organizations (e.g., Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering) during vacations and short-term breaks from college attendance while enrolled in an accredited degree program.  

Lockheed Martin Space Systems is seeking a Summer 2027 Intern in SW engineering Discipline.  In this role, you will work with the senior level engineer to develop automation tools and test scripts for the system testbed lab.  The automation tools enable lab’s operation more effectively and efficiently.   The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of Python, Java, C/C++skills. Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require government security clearance. This position is located at a Sunnyvale, CA facility working onsite in a classified closed area.

Basic Qualifications

Education: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

Graduation Timeline: Must be returning to school for at least one semester or quarter following the internship (not graduating immediately before the summer).

Programming Skills: Foundational knowledge in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.

Computer Science Fundamentals: Basic understanding of data structures (like arrays, lists, and trees) and algorithms.

Desired Skills

Project Experience: Personal, academic, or open-source coding projects outside of regular coursework.

Version Control: Familiarity with Gitlab for collaborative development.

Problem Solving: Ability to work through technical challenges and debug simple code.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $25.18 - $35.19
