The candidate will Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Being a valued member of the Mechanisms Engineering organization, your responsibilities may include some of the following:
- Lead one, or several, integrated product teams, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, adjacent functions, suppliers, and stakeholders, to support products through the entire engineering lifecycle.
- Work with partnering functions to ensure all cost, schedule, and technical elements are appropriately flowed down, understood, and provide resourcing support as needed for success.
- Support new business strategy and capture efforts with proposal support and management of engineering lifecycles from beginning to end.
- Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical elements of one, or several, Integrated Product Teams which includes Earned Value Management, work authorization requests, Estimate At Complete reviews, schedule status, variance reporting, as well as the identification and management of risks and opportunities.
- Occasional travel.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Program Management skillsets and methodologies with demonstrated experience leading various technical teams using excellent communication skills (both oral and written). US citizenship required.
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience.
- Experience with project and/or program management including Earned Value Management, schedule management, critical path analysis and risk/opportunity management.
- Ability to operate autonomously in a dynamic environment while dealing with complex unforeseen challenges, balancing technical, personnel, cost, and schedule factors.
- Excellent presentation, oral, and written skills as well as experience building key relationships at various levels of the organization and across functional areas.
- US citizenship required.
Desired Skills
- Experience leading cross-functional projects with significant impact and senior leadership exposure.
- Prior experience generating accurate and thorough technical estimates, proposals, and Basis of Estimates (BOE) documents.
- Proficient with Program Management collaborative tools and systems as well as the application of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Direct experience with complex aerospace mechanical subsystems and associated interfaces, including hardware design, analysis, manufacture, test, and integration.
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150800.00 - $280000.00
