The Systems Engineer will:

• Perform Multi level requirement assessment in support of Interceptor design updates

• Support streamlining the requirements process to reduce time needed to update, track, and release documents

• Support organizing Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Interceptor Requirements by removing or archiving old requirements and deleting out of date traces.

• Draft, reviewing, and release of requirements specification documents, including
peer reviews and change requests for requirements changes and verification baseline

• Coordinate changes and requirement dependencies with other components (Radar, THAAD Fire Control and Communications, Launcher, Weapon Systems Engineering, Talon, Peculiar Support Equipment) and stakeholders to plan requirements verification.

• Work with the DOORS database to manage requirements and update as needed based on the change control process.

• Collaborate with the THAAD stakeholders and internal teams to ensure requirement clarity and usefulness.

• Input and track requirements and verification work via integrated master schedule and JIRA stories.

• Report via JIRA to track dependencies with other teams and stakeholders.

• Support the upcoming transition for R&V from the Missile Defense Agency to the United States Army.

• Support all R&V activities for Iterative Engineering Technical Reviews (IETR) to include but not limited to chart review, coordination of objective evidence, and planning for current and future program increments.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Basic Qualifications

• Systems engineering experience within requirements, verification, and validation.

• Knowledge or experience with missile, defense, aerospace, or related systems.

• Knowledge or experience with DOORS or another requirements management tool.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance; US citizenship required.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Requirements and Verification teams to create, update, maintain, verify and release requirements for large programs.

• Experience with the THAAD program or other related programs (Aegis, Patriot, Fleet Ballistic Missile, other Strategic and Missile Defense Programs, etc.)

• Experience with Lockheed Martin system engineering and requirements processes

• Knowledge of program management, finance, contracts, Earned Value Management (EVM) and demonstrated business insight

• Experience with DOORs Classic and DOORs Next

• SAFE AGILE / Atlassian JIRA

• Bachelor Degree in an engineering or related discipline.

• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $106600.00 - $198000.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
