Standard Job Description
This Program Management Manager position in the Solar Array Engineering will be the integrated product team lead (IPTL) for solar array programs and will be heavily involved in meeting the technical, cost and schedule of the programs. This position will be badged to the Mechanical Products Talent Center.
The IPTL role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities:
- Support the Products Talent Center and Solar Array Engineering in execution of the overall programs. The solar array team is responsible for the entire life cycle of the solar array products, from initial concept development through design, build, test, and flight.
- Lead team meetings, be the point of contact with the programs/customers, and lead design reviews, readiness reviews, and review boards. The PTL will also establish the detailed plan, manage the team to that plan, report cost and schedule performance, and report earned value management metrics.
- Lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers to establish the design of the solar array, including requirements allocation, trade studies, solid modeling, materials evaluations, and analyses.
- Develop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses necessary to support product build and testing activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to supervise the build and test of the hardware in the production facility located next door to the engineering building
- Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure.
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent education and experience
- Experience in Engineering Development (SRR/PDR/CDR)
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional product development team environment.
- Experience in support to production operations
- Demonstrated team leadership or prior management experience
- Demonstrated ability to drive hardware production activities through delivery to the program.
- Must be a US Citizen to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills
- Experience with aerospace vehicle flight hardware design, analysis, manufacture, test, and integration.
- Prior leadership/management experience
- Proficient with CAD modeling, drafting, and drawing release in Creo/EPDM (CREO) or equivalent.
- Previous experience planning and allocating tasks, establishing schedules, and managing cost accounts.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation, including VE- CAM, SAP, Q-notes, production orders, test procedures, etc.
- Cost account manager training/experience
- Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
- Experience in areas of cost analysis, schedule, and risk & opportunity management
- Ability to navigate a diverse environment and build consensus across functional boundaries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $185400.00 - $344400.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
