This position is the Deputy to the Global Comms and Navigation SI&E Director.  Responsibilities for this position include

  • Organizing and growing the GCN new business SI&E team
  • Coordinating and managing GCN SI&E engagement and direction of multiple new business opportunities and pursuits to include partnering with other Program, Advanced Capability, and E&T organizations to enable successful shaping, response and capture
  • Take a lead role in planning for and executing transition activities between capture (i.e. proposal submit) and program execution (i.e. ATP) to maximize continuity and efficiency to support start-green/stay-green activities
  • Support the identification and implementation of processes and procedure improvements for the GCN SI&E organization.  Partner with other SI&E areas as required to adopt and understand best-practices
  • Providing thought leadership and engagement to represent GCN SI&E organization in evolving the broader SI&E organization as it relates to the evolution of Systems Engineering and Integration across both Space and the Corporation
  • Support the development and definition of the GCN SIE organization as it grows to support an expanding portfolio
  • Serve as a senior representative for the GCN SI&E organization to other groups- both internal and external to Lockheed Martin

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering-related field
  • 15 years of Systems Engineering Experience across a range of programs and lifecycle phases
  • Strong systems integration experience
  • Direct experience working new business pursuits/captures in a Systems Engineering Capacity
  • Experience with working either Communications or Navigation programs
  • Experience working Space programs that include Satellite and Ground
  • Experience leading small-to-medium sized teams
  • Experience in functional leadership
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with Digital Engineering and/or MBSE
  • Demonstrated understanding of Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Possess Secret Clearance; able to get SCI clearance

Desired Skills

  • Masters Degree in Engineering-related field
  • 20 years (or more) of Systems Engineering Experience
  • Experience designing and delivering SATCOM or Space-Based Navigation Systems/Solutions as part of integrated product teams
  • Experience developing and testing Software/Firmware/Gateware
  • Experience in RF, Digital, and Optical technologies (as the relate to Comms and Navigation Systems)
  • Proven experience with external customer interaction; ability to understand and shape system attributes in partnership with the Advanced/Strategy Group
  • Experience Architecting complex systems
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $198400.00 - $368400.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
