Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.

 

This position will support the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Supplier Quality AMMM Integration Team focusing on improving and managing supplier performance primarily in the Atlanta area. While this position is aligned with the AMMM program, these suppliers do support other aeronautics programs. 

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Experience with root cause and corrective action (RCCA)
  • Knowledge of AS9100
  • Effective communication skills - Written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing
  • Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
  • Experience identifying and engaging relevant stakeholders for collaboration 
  • High energy, self-starting, team player who achieves goals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 

Desired Skills

  • Supplier Quality Management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field or 5 years related experience.
  • Supplier Quality Engineer experience
  • Previous experience with Lockheed Martin supplier quality requirements.
  • Experienced understanding and application of AS9100 / AS9102. 
  • Experience in auditing suppliers to contractual requirements and AS standards.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering requirements and specifications and applying their intent for evaluating acceptance of quality products.
  • Experience developing performance improvements plans (e.g. zero defect plans, return-to-green plans). 
  • Experience interacting with one or more of the following: Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and/or Government Customer Representatives.
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing, machining, and assembly work.
  • Green Belt, Black Belt, or CQE certification.
  • Demonstrated quality science expertise in one or more of the following areas: Statistical analysis, statistical process control, sampling, six sigma, FAI, PPAP, PFMEA, process auditing or validation, root cause analysis and corrective action validations, and supplier quality management.
