What You Will Be Doing
- Coordinates with Sourcing, Operations, Design Engineering, the Supply Base and Industry experts to facilitate the design, production, test and qualification of aerospace and defense products.
- Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts/equipment availability.
- Investigates and recommends potential suppliers based on assessments of response to specifications, costs, inspection of facilities, and historical performance.
- Facilitate technical trade-offs and standardization that may lead to more economical procurement.
- Recommends design changes to mitigate production issues.
- Leads teams of Supplier and internal staff in collaboratively solving problems in Producibility, Quality, Inspection, Cost, Mistake-Proofing, Test, Reliability and Affordability.
- Possess an in-depth understanding of production processes as they relate to aircraft systems components and avionics equipment, machined part fabrication, tooling fabrication, and lean manufacturing.
- Be a self-starter that is capable of analyzing supplier processes and developing improvement plans in collaboration with personnel from both the supplier and Lockheed Martin.
- Regularly collaborate across multiple functions (within LM and at the supplier facility), including production, procurement, quality, and engineering, in order to expedite parts/assemblies that are required to support each of the LM Aeronautics Lines of Business (LOB).
Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Domestic travel on an as needed basis to supplier facilities in the South Central U.S. (up to 75% weekly)

Basic Qualifications
- Experience with Airframe and Major Subsystem components
- Contracts or Subcontracts experience
- Experience influencing decisions at the executive leadership level of external organizations
- Experience interfacing with Manufacturing & Supplier Quality, Production Control, Supply Chain and Program Leadership, Production Manufacturing & Engineering
- Experience capturing, aggregate, analyzing, and presenting data that effectively demonstrates supplier performance, while identifying the potential risks and opportunities, to obtain a positive outcome
- Experience interpreting technical blueprints, specifications, and drawings, utilizing DIMS, PDM, and/or EDMS
- Experience working with supplier engagements and a familiarity with Aircraft Manufacturing Procurement Processes specifically within the Aerospace or Defense arena
- Experience with problem solving techniques, tools and methodologies; such as root cause corrective action (RCCA)
- Project Management experience and/or PMP certification

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
