We are seeking a Sustainment Engineer to join the RMS Global Sustainment, Information Systems & Innovation (IS&I) organization. This role will be responsible for supporting a variety of applications though effective project management, project planning and technical expertise to enable a successful development execution and technology insertion of these applications for the customer.  The successful candidate will be supporting the project Lead who is the primary interface between multiple internal and external organizations in the deployment life cycle of both Digital Transformation initiatives and CAST (Connect, Assist, Sustain & Transform) product(s) deployments as required.

 

Summary of Role

• Provide technical leadership of software development effort

• Keep pace with enabling technologies and provide input to technology insertion plans

• Participate in software reviews, produce schedule, agenda, meeting minutes collection, action items and resolution of action items

• Produce technical presentations in support of Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)/guidance conferences, IPT meetings, program reviews, and summits

• Interact with System Engineering and interfacing organizations (SSE, Eng, Diagnostics,

Supportability sub-segments, etc.)

• Support all requirements issues related to the project

• Review software development team status reports and advise

• Work with project Lead to gather, analyze, and document technical requirements

• Contribute to the development of statements of work

• Track, monitor and report on project status (technical, schedule) throughout the software development lifecycle

• Create executive-level status reports

• Work with Technical Lead to align technical/business objectives with products

• Prepare test plans, test descriptions, test cases

• Participate in regular telcons, Integrated Process Team meetings, and Technical

Interchange Meetings

• Document and resolve customer issues

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or systems engineering or equivalent work experience

• In depth knowledge of Software or Program Development Lifecycle

• Detail oriented, team oriented

• Clear, concise writing skills

• Ability to effectively work with internal & external customers

• Ability to work independently and work with limited direction to accomplish project goals

• MSOffice Proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Timeline)

• US Citizen

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of software development life cycle

• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)

• Familiarity with Web design

• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile development methodologies

• Familiarity with Systems Security Engineering and Cyber Security principles

• Familiarity with aircraft operations

• Experience with data collection and analytical analysis

• Experience with mobile devices, applications and/or technologies

• Cameo Systems Modeler or Enterprise Architect experience a plus

• XML/html knowledge a plus

• Software user interface design a plus

• Technical writing/IETM user experience a plus

• Aircraft maintenance experience a plus

• Cost Account Manager (CAM) a plus

• Ability to acquire US Government Security Clearance a plus

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role. 

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $106600.00 - $198000.00 
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $95900.00 - $178100.00 
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $85300.00 - $158300.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $76700.00 - $142500.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Ocala, FL; Lufkin, TX; etc.
