As a Missile Performance Simulation Engineer, you will work with a team of engineers in performing the following duties and functions:
• Missile system trajectory performance and functionality analyses using a variety of modeling and simulation methods.
• 3DOF and 6DOF Missile trajectory simulation and analysis (preflight and postflight).
• Maintenance and modernization of missile simulation software and supporting data set; writing or modifying software to support and perform specific analysis.
• Creating technical memos, providing input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, and presenting analysis results to internal engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel during technical exchange meetings.
• Provide support to the missile simulation’s user base, working groups, for LM personnel and various non-LM FBM contractors.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.
Basic Qualifications
• Experience in flight dynamics, trajectories, physics-based modeling, time domain simulation, Guidance, Navigation, & Controls (GNC), and/or a related field
• Programming experience in one or more of the following: MATLAB, Fortran, C/C++, Python, Java
• Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret; US Citizenship required
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, physics or other related field
- Knowledge of missile trajectory performance and subsystem inter-dependencies
- Understanding of 3 DOF and 6 DOF dynamics as they relate to aerospace vehicles
- Experience programming in UNIX/LINUX operating system (O/S) environment
- Strong programming experience (C/C++ or Similar)
- Knowledge of FORTRAN
- Familiarity with STK, MBSE, Cameo, Agile process
- Experience leading small to medium groups including technical oversight and programmatic execution
- FBM program experience
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
