Standard Job Description

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

 

The CPS Platform Systems Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) team is looking for a Systems Engineer to drive the technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability for the Weapon Control System (WCS).  This will involve being knowledgeable of the total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and sustainment.  This position ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. As well as support on-site integration and testing campaigns as a delegate to the Responsible System Engineers.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and practices
  • Familiarity with Hardware / Software Integration
  • Ability to perform as an On-Site Engineering Support Team-member
  • Familiarity with Software Development
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, and operations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required

Desired Skills

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Software, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated  ability to learn new software tools and applications
  • Familiarity with US Navy Strategic Programs Customer and / or CPS Program
  • Familiarity with risk and opportunity management policies and procedures
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool
  • Experience with product development and deployment
  • Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or disciplines outside of Systems Engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and creatively
  • Active DOD clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00
