Standard Job Description
This role is within the Mission Engineering and Operations (MEO) organization as a Mission Systems Engineer for the Bus team. This position is to support spacecraft operations, sustainment, and production through operational software products and CONOP development. The MEO team works within the Global Security portfolio as a part of the National Security Space Line of Business.
In this position you will:
- Be responsible for developing and updating operational CONOPs for your area of expertise to include being the primary interface between operations and certified principal engineers.
- Collaborate with multiple teams across the program to deliver and maintain the best operational system.
- Seek out improvements, implement efficiencies, and deliver automation-based solutions
- Prepare for and execute initialization of new spacecraft assets
- Maintain an established baseline of spacecraft command sequence products, to include design, code, test these products utilizing a simple, proprietary programming language
- Work in an Agile environment with system architects to design and develop CONOPs on several new programs that span various lifecycle stages
In support of mission operations, each member of the team is expected to become a domain expert in one or more spacecraft bus subsystems, and to support the rest of the team through reviews, testing and backup support of their products and CONOPs.
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers and customers
- Proven experience working collaboratively across and within teams
- Active Top Secret security clearance is required and ability to obtain SCI.
- 3-5 years of previous work experience in Systems Engineering
Desired Skills
- Experience programming in Python
- Previous experience or knowledge of spacecraft operations, particularly in the areas of Orbit Analysis, Mission/Maneuver Planning, and CONOP development
- Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to constantly changing requirements and situations
- Demonstrate experience in assessing risk, properly prioritizing, obtaining status, and accomplishing multiple tasks with only general direction
- Has an adjudicated counter-intelligence polygraph
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00
