This role serves as a key technical contributor within systems engineering teams, responsible for the analysis, design, integration, and verification of complex electrical systems and architectures. This role leverages extensive Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) expertise using Cameo to develop, maintain, and evolve system models that drive requirements traceability, performance simulation, and lifecycle management. Work is performed with moderate independence, with guidance available for complex or novel problems. Individuals in this role apply systems thinking and architecture decomposition to break down complex electrical systems into manageable subsystems and interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Cameo-based system models representing electrical architectures, power distribution, signal routing, and integration interfaces across subsystems.
- Establish and enforce requirements structures in Cameo, ensuring traceability from customer needs → functional requirements → design → verification activities.
- Perform electrical system analysis, including power budgeting, thermal loads, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and signal integrity, using model-derived metrics and simulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, software, firmware, systems) to integrate electrical models into broader system-of-systems representations, exercising technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Support model-based verification and validation planning, including traceability matrices, test case derivation, and verification gap analysis.
- Maintain model integrity, version control, and documentation in accordance with project standards.
- Mentor junior engineers on MBSE methodologies, Cameo workflows, and electrical systems fundamentals.
- Participate in design reviews, configuration management activities, and technical interchanges with government or customer stakeholders.
The information below reflects the standard job description for this position
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

- Proven experience creating and managing system-level models, including block definition, internal block diagrams, requirement tables, and parameterization.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical system domains (power distribution, avionic wiring, signal conditioning, digital interfaces).
- Experience with requirements management integration (RM, DOORS, or Cameo-native requirement objects).
- U.S. citizenship with active Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS clearance.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability in ambiguous, high-stakes engineering environments.
Desired Skills
- Direct experience with Cameo add-ons or scripting (TCL, Python) for model automation or custom tool development.
- 5+ professional experience in electrical systems engineering, with at least 2 years focused on MBSE using Siemens Capital/Cameo.
- Familiarity with systems modeling languages (SysML) and OMG standards.
- Prior work in defense, aerospace, or embedded systems projects with integrated electrical/electronic architecture.
- Certified Systems Engineer (INCOSE-CSE) or equivalent professional certification.
- Exposure to model-based test (MBT) pipelines and automated verification workflows.
