TLS Systems Engineer Senior (Mid-Career Level)

The Work
As a key member of our TLS C130J Systems Engineering team, you will:
- Assist in the design of requirements and test procedures for various C-130J maintenance and aircrew training devices and products.
- Support the development activities of the system engineering team (Agile, MBSE and Waterfall) under guidance.
- Contribute to milestone completion supporting verification, validation, and delivery of product capabilities.
- Support the C-130J Aircrew and maintenance training device product line deliveries as a team member.
- Contribute to an Integrated Product Team, coordinated with Lead Systems Engineers.
- Support customer design reviews by preparing materials and providing support under guidance.
- Assist with verification and testing of visual database systems requirements.
- Travel (OCONUS/CONUS) to customer and supplier sites as needed for milestone events.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3+ years of systems engineering experience in the aerospace or defense industry
- Proven understanding of systems engineering principles, including system design, development, integration, and testing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with airborne systems and components, including avionics, electrical, and mechanical systems
- C130J platform experience
- Familiarity with flight simulators and simulation development/testing
- Basic knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including 14 CFR Part 60
- Experience with version control systems and agile development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, DOORs, JIRA, Atlassian tools suite
- Familiarity with Agile Development Process (a plus) and Model Based Systems Engineering
- Experience with product lifecycle activities: requirements management, verification & validation, or configuration management
- Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to cross-functional technical teams on complex projects
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
