Standard Job Description
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
The Air System Analysis and Verification Operations team, part of the Systems Engineering organization, seeks a Project lead to oversee technical, and/ or Verification scope . As the lead, you will be responsible for guiding the executing team, working with leadership on priorities , and coordination with the customer. Ensuring that analytical tools, methodologies, and verification activities are tightly coupled with subsystem development schedules, delivering validated solutions that meet cost, schedule, performance, and compliance objectives for both DoD and Lockheed Martin standards.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Significant experience in systems engineering, integration and test
- Proven experience leading a team of technical professionals
Desired Skills
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or equivalent industry with at least 3 years in a senior technical lead role
- Demonstrated depth in at least two of the following: Weapons, Fusion, Radar, EW, EO/DAS
- Proficient in Agile (SAFe) and traditional schedule, risk, and cost management
- Strong background in risk identification, quantification, and mitigation
- Excellent written and oral communication; ability to produce rigorous technical documentation
- Systems thinking with the ability to see the “big picture” while drilling down into detailed technical analyses.
- Strong influence and negotiation skills to align disparate functional teams around common goals.
- Proven ability to drive cultural change toward data‑driven decision making and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, LM engineering standards, and MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler).
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00
