You will be responsible for developing and managing system requirements, interfaces, and technical solutions throughout the system lifecycle. Work across engineering disciplines to analyze system performance, resolve integration issues, and ensure requirements and mission objectives are satisfied.

Standard Job Description

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering and minimum 2 years of related experience
• Current active US DoD Secret Security clearance is required.
• Ability to support an in-office / closed-area work environment full time.
• Current GWS HW EE and systems engineering experience.
• 2 years of recent professional experience using a CAD Package such as Visio, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CREO, Siemens Capital Suites (Logic/Harness), or NX to develop technical drawings
• Experience in two or more of the following areas: electrical/power system design, network communication system design, cable harness fabrication design, and perform electrical load analysis.
• Experience reviewing engineering specifications, electrical schematics and/or drawings with the ability to translate customer driven requirements into specifications.
• Understanding and application of industry and company electrical engineering technical standards and procedures; demonstrated electrical component design experience and impact assessment / trade studies development.
• Experience evaluating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and military parts for compliance to meet requirements

• Prior experience with engineering PLM systems such as Teamcenter and MRP system such as SAP.

• Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts

• Recent experience leading a small project, including task and schedule planning, to meet major project milestone objectives.

• Mentoring and cross-training junior engineers in analysis work, reviews, and approving their analysis results to meet customer requirements.

• Recent experience generating engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, technical reports, test procedures, program procedures, and CDRLS.

• Experience in one or more of the following system engineering knowledge areas: technical planning, requirements derivation, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, cost and risk analysis, interface definition, system design, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

• Experience in Visio or Siemens Capital Suites (Logic/Harness)

• Experience with mission critical and safety critical systems, components, etc.

• Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Core Standards: MDA-QS-001-MAP, MDA-QS-003-PMAP, MDA Instruction 5000.20-INS (ETR Process)

• Familiarity with the GMD domain and GMD Launch Support Systems hardware

• Hands-on mentality and a passion for fast-paced environments.

• Experience using DOORS and/or CAMEO

• Certification in IPC-620 Workmanship Standards

• Experience with circuit card assembly design and schematic design tools

• Experience with lab test equipment such as function generator, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzers, etc.

• Security + Certification

• Familiarity with MIL-STD-1901A, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, TEMPEST 01-13, NEC

• Familiarity with circuit card, controls systems, and/or component design.

• Experience in short circuit analysis, bent pin analysis, and sneak circuit analysis

• Experience with wireless point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and multipoint communication devices and systems

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
