Job Title:  Systems Engineer Staff - E4
Posting Start Date:  11/3/26

Standard Job Description

The Electrical Systems Integrator (ESI) plays a vital role in end-to-end program execution by guiding the technical development of electrical systems of the spacecraft (SV) through all programmatic phases from initial design formulation, design maturation, production/manufacturing, system level integration & test, and deployment into flight operations. The ESI has a strong understanding of Electrical SV Subsystems (EPS, GN&C, COMMS, etc.), the internal/external interfaces, and how the system functions within a complex System-of-Systems operation.  A successful ESI seeks to move the design/build/test of the SV forward within the framework of the program, while demonstrating the ability to manage priorities and make proper risk-based decisions related to SV build/performance within the program’s cost & schedule constraints. You will support the SV System CPE to help drive the overall system design, requirements definition and decomposition, test execution, verification, and certification activities in support of completing key program milestones within budget and schedule. You will provide technical leadership to a small team of junior ESIs.  In this role you will:

•    Perform system level design and decomposition into requirements, lead trade studies and layout, collaborate with the engineering teams
•    Work with IPTs and SMEs to define, document, & manage the system analyses, interfaces, and requirements between the flight systems, EGSE, processing equipment, test fixturing, and other external interfaces
•    Ensure the end-to-end compatibility of interfaces throughout the SV
•    Lead & perform technical analysis of complex system problems and develop solutions to those problems, including channelization, compatibility, and failure analyses
•    Lead electrical integration, test planning, and test execution, driving efficiencies
•    Coordinate with IPT teams and test organization to ensure compatibility of the interfacing equipment with the Flight system
•    Participate in and coordinate design reviews and technical product reviews
•    Lead and participate in failure investigations and review boards
•    Operate using Systems Engineering processes & functions, tailored to a go-fast program
•    Ensure technical risks are adequately represented

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.
