What We’re Doing
Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.
The Work
The Team Lead serves as the primary line of leadership for all Core SE team members and reports directly to the Regional SE Engineering Manager. This position combines people management responsibilities with deep technical expertise to drive team performance and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Reporting - Acts as the first point of leadership for the Core SE team.
- Provides regular status updates and metrics to the Regional SE Engineering Manager.
- Maintains accurate, up to date metrics that reflect team progress, productivity, and quality targets.
- Analyzes data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversees the full staffing lifecycle: talent acquisition, candidate interviews, and onboarding.
- Addresses performance issues promptly and constructively.
- Mentors team members, supporting their professional growth and career development.
- Demonstrates strong competency in all technical work performed by the team.
- Reviews and validates product deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and design specifications.
- Defines, documents, and enforces Core SE team processes.
- Ensures compliance with established procedures and promotes best practices across the team.

-This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
-The role may involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.

Basic Qualifications
- A final secret clearance is required for consideration
- Working knowledge on a program dealing with customer deliverables
- Formal or informal team leadership experience including coaching and giving performance feedback.
- Proven ability to develop proposals, build high performing teams, establish and maintain quantitative metrics, deliver effective training, and shape a strong, collaborative culture.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and managing System Engineers, providing technical guidance and career development within the discipline.
- Solid understanding of Agile principles and a track record of collaborating with functional teams throughout an organization.
Desired Skills
-Hands on experience designing and building prototypes, as well as planning and executing experimental investigations.
-Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools to predict system behavior and support design decisions.
-Background working with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or within Command and Control (C2) environments.
-Strong system engineering foundation complemented by proven leadership capabilities.
-Root cause analysis and corrective action planning experience
-Application architecture, integration, and verification testing experience
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
