The Lockheed Martin Systems Engineering Factory is the enterprise-wide hub for enabling increased rigor, efficiency, and consistency for Lockheed Martin's programs and our workforce. We are partnering with the Test & Evaluation Factory in seeking a talented individual to coordinate external engagements with industry and Government standards organizations to ensure LM's goals are met and to link those activities to LM operations.
The Systems Engineering Factory is hiring a Systems Engineering & Test External Outreach & Standards Lead.
What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating Lockheed Martin participation with industry and government groups focused on Systems Engineering and Test while communicating the impact of external activities on Lockheed Martin and its programs. You must be capable of performing future roles in Systems Engineering and/or Test on programs performing technical planning, requirements, architecture, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems across the entire lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include the following:
- Coordinating Lockheed Martin engagement related to Systems Engineering & Test with Government & industry groups such as INCOSE, OMG, NDIA, Open Systems Standards consortia
- Managing communication of the impacts of external standards, policies, and engagement to Lockheed Martin leadership and technical workforce.
- Coordinating consistent messaging of Lockheed Martin’s position to Government and Industry groups, including arranging of executive participation at events
- Defining strategic roadmap for shaping & communicating standards and best practices related to Systems Enterprise & Test standards and approaches to affect industry and government policies
- Collaborating with LM Business Areas to identify technical spokesperson(s) to represent LM at external events, including executive
Further Information About This Opportunity:
This role is fully remote but will require travel up to 25% (including some international). US Citizenship is required due to system access.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience working with SE and I&T oriented organizations such as INCOSE, OMG, NDIA, and/or Open Standards consortia
- Experience working with government, industry groups, and/or consortia to establish and implement standards and best practices
- Broad understanding of government defense acquisition policy, industry best practices, and standards as they apply to systems engineering, integration, and test
- Experience working with executives and developing presentations
- Practical experience as an engineer supporting programs in the areas of requirements, architecture, integration, and verification
- Ability to travel, including internationally (10%-25%)
- US Citizenship is required due to system access
Desired Skills
- Experience with the analysis and application of systems engineering & test standards on programs
- Familiarity with existing and developmental domain-specific standards and their application on development programs
- Ability to define, shape, and execute strategic roadmaps
- Experience with understanding government and industry documents
- Experience with Model-based Enterprise initiatives
- Experience managing budgets, preferably from overhead funding sources
- Experience working with executives to coordinate schedules presentations
- Active Secret Clearance
Pay Information
GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $161300.00 - $299500.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $145100.00 - $269500.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $129000.00 - $239600.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $116100.00 - $215700.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Ocala, FL; Lufkin, TX; etc.

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
