Standard Job Description

We are hiring a skilled Avionics & Flight Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the advanced electronics and flight guidance systems in our labs and on aircraft. This position requires someone who has a good amount of experience with aircraft wiring, specifically constructing wiring harnesses from electrical schematics. Candidate also needs to have experience routing wiring harnesses in a large electronics rack and terminating to a rear disconnect panel. Mechanical skills are also required for mounting items in the racks.

Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical. Constructs, troubleshoots aircraft systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.

Technician capable of working from engineering drawings, electrical and electronic schematics with limited guidance to fabricate, install, diagnose and repair equipment and test installations in support of System Integration Laboratory test facilities. Must be able to fabricate wire harnesses, test boxes and associated laboratory test equipment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong electronic and electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Read and interpret complex wiring diagrams, system schematics, and engineering blueprints.
  • Previous experience with electronic and electrical fabrication.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical and general fabrication skills.
  • Previous experience working with, fabricating and terminating military wiring harnesses and connectors.

 

Desired Skills

  • Deep understanding of AC/DC electrical theory, data bus protocols (like ARINC 429), and digital logic.
  • Proficient use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, and automated test equipment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and sharp problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working on Blackhawk, 53K, or similar programs strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in aircraft avionics and flight control maintenance.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $67900.00 - $126100.00
