Standard Job Description

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

The successful candidate will contribute to our Canadian Coast Guard Vessel (CCGV) project as a member of our Integration, Test and Evaluation (IT&E) Cross Product Team (CPT).

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of 8-10 employees to ensure all connectorization, cabling and connector requirements are met
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor work to ensure efficient utilization of personnel and timely completion of connectorization team tasks
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate all current connectorization activities while forecasting and preparing for upcoming program requirements
  • Identify and resolve scheduling or resource conflicts that could impact the program
  • Develop and maintain a functional connectorization database to track work scope, progress,completion status, and key performance metrics
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, such as cable termination details, test data and other documentation as required by the contract
  • Ensure all required deliverables are completed accurately, on-time, and to established company standards
  • Develop and maintain an organized system for material storage, inventory control, and traceability Connectorization material
  • Work with external customers, vendors, internal procurement, and system engineering to identify and resolve material shortages, quality concerns, connector, cable, and/or equipment compatibility issues
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training team members to improve productivity and workmanship
  • Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment while ensuring company procedures are followed

Statusing:

  • Coordinate with CPT lead to provide accurate and timely status and metrics updates
  • Monitor project progress and communicate risks or delays to CPT lead with recommended solutions to minimize impacts to cost, schedule, and quality
  • Coordinate with customers to provide status updates, address concerns, and maintain program schedule

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Combat Systems Engineering
  • Field experience in connectorization\cable management\cable pull
  • Experience in cable management and cable\connector design
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel\database management skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a dynamic environment

Desired Skills

  • Experience in Systems Engineering
  • Experience in a Naval engineering or Naval shipbuilding environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Common Office Tools
  • Experience in cable management\engineering software (Zuken, Cameo, CMPic)
  • IPC 620 (IPC/WHMA-A-620) Certification
