We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer, Associate Manager - Flight Test Optics to lead the FBM Flight Test Operations Team.  This Team collects and processes Optics data in support of the FBM flight test program on board FBM support ships.  You will lead the management, maintenance, and operation of the FBM Optical data collection systems. In addition, to being the ‘Badged to and Deployed To’ Manager of Flight Test, the selected candidate will also handle Local Leader duties for other Titusville FBM based System Integration/Test Engineers.

 

In this role you will:

  • Manage and direct the processing and archival of optics data to support post-flight engineering evaluation of flight performance
  • Manage and direct the efforts of flight test personnel in the setup, maintenance and operation of the sea and air-based electro-optical instrumentation systems in support of the FBM flight tests
  • Provide local functional oversight to engineers within his technical discipline
  • Evaluate test engineering personnel for performance reviews/management, promotions, merits, and career development
  • Work collaboratively with the program and functional senior leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments / rotations to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills
  • Lead and multi-task in a demanding and dynamic workplace consistent with Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives
  • Model personal excellence, integrity, accountability, and technical excellence while leading assigned employees

 

 

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system products to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Technical coordination with Program Office, Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, and/or Customer
  • Agile development experience
  • Systems Engineering process knowledge or experience and complete lifecycle experience with Engineering processes and reviews
  • Active Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required
  • Abilitty to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance

Desired Skills

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)
• Familiarity with DoD program support
• Demonstrated Program/Project Management and/or leadership skills
• FBM Weapon Systems Programs
• Missile/Space Weapons Systems
• Customer interaction and familiarity with the DoD Flight Tests
• Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, principles and tools
• Broad experience of Systems Engineering life cycle process and tools
• Proposal preparation, BOEs
• Knowledge of program management, finance, contracts, Earned Value Management (EVM) and demonstrated business insight
• Recognized as an authority in systems thinking techniques with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of complex problems and train others in their application
• Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering
• Active Top Secret

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
