Standard Job Description

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for a position in Troy, AL. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a work group, ensuring high-quality products, excellent performance, and on-time delivery. All functions and job duties assigned to the Manufacturing Supervisor, include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily supervision of a team
  • Building effective relationships
  • Planning and assigning work to teammates
  • Ensuring all teammates are adequately trained and prepared for work
  • Tracking performance metrics, attendance, throughput, and standards
  • Assisting in the development of strategies to increase throughput and reduce inefficiencies
  • Ensuring a safe and inclusive workplace
  • Working with ESH to ensure that safety and environmental policies and procedures are followed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Working knowledge of computing resources including MS Office applications 
  • Proven ability to manage cost, quality, and schedule metrics
  • Experience managing hourly performance, assignments, training, labor records, and overtime schedules
  • Must be able to perform in a team and customer-focused work environment, maintaining effective communication with internal / external customers
  • Must obtain a secret clearance prior to starting


**Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Desired Skills

  • Six or more years of related experience
  • Manufacturing and/or defense industry experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to provide Leadership and obtain Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Working knowledge and previous experience managing cost, quality, and schedule metrics
  • Ability to maintain good employee relations within a team
  • Excellent oral, active listening, written communications skills and team building skills
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies and demonstrated experience in the development and evaluation of effective preventive/corrective action plans
  • Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $72500.00 - $134600.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
