ITAP has already built a strong track record: Cohorts 1 and 2 successfully developed apprentices through the program, and those graduates have since moved into full-time roles across the company, including Full-Stack Engineers, Software Engineers, Systems Integration Analysts, and Test Engineers, among other positions.
As an IT Apprentice, you will join a cohort-based, on-the-job training program designed to build practical software and IT skills through rotational "pod" assignments, mentorship, and real project work. You will support live initiatives across areas such as dashboard development, automation, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and application support, while progressing through structured training milestones toward certification and program graduation.
Candidate will work remotely, but must be currently located in Puerto Rico.
Apprentices in this program will:
- Rotate through multiple technology pods to gain broad, hands-on experience across the IT/software landscape
- Contribute to real, active projects alongside engineers and mentors
- Work toward obtaining relevant IT or technical certifications during the course of the program
- Build foundational and applied skills in programming, development, and systems support
- Begin employment as a non-exempt, casual apprentice with limited benefits during the apprenticeship period
- Upon successful completion and graduation from the program, convert to an exempt, employee with full benefit
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Software Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of schooling and practical experience
- General knowledge of, and some hands-on experience with, programming and software development
- Willingness and ability to learn and progress through the program's various technology pods and rotational assignments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based, mentorship-driven environment
- Expierience, knowledge of, and some hands-on experience with in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL, C, C++ or similar)
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative development tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Git, Jira)
- Basic understanding of databases, cloud platforms, or dashboard/reporting tools
- Demonstrated initiative in pursuing and ability to obtain industry certifications (e.g., cloud, networking, or programming certifications)
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn and explore multiple IT disciplines
- Ability to work as a non-exempt, casual apprentice for the duration of the program, with the intent to convert to an exempt, full-time employee upon successful graduation

Pay Information
GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $52400.00 - $97200.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $47100.00 - $87500.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $41900.00 - $77700.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $37700.00 - $69900.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
