Standard Job Description
In this role you will:
- Oversee preparation, review, and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and company policy
- Supervise fixed asset accounting, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and processes
- Manage treasury activity for Space and subsidiaries
- Oversee collaboration with Global Financial Services and treasury personnel to ensure accurate and timely cash posting
- Coordinate with internal audit and external auditors, address audit findings, and improve internal controls
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across reporting, treasury, and asset management to enhance efficiency and data integrity
- Manage ASC 842 Accounting for Leases to ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policies
- Oversee conversion to new financial reporting tool, Oracle FCC
- Directly supervise a team of 4 finance professionals, setting clear goals and expectations
- Conduct regular 1‑on‑1 coaching sessions to develop technical expertise, career paths, and succession planning
- Manage performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and recognize high‑performers to maintain engagement and productivity
- Allocate workload effectively across peak reporting periods ensuring balanced staffing and timely deliverables
- Desire for leader to be onsite at a Lockheed Martin Space facility approximately 1 day per week depending on location
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's degree in accounting or finance or anything else from an accredited university
- Working understanding of GAAP
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work with internal controls, risk management practices, and basic SOX compliance
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative skills; high attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Desired Skills
- CPA
- Experience in financial reporting
- Prior experience with SAP
- Top Secret Security Clearance
- Familiarity with Lockheed Martin policies and procedures (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)
- 5+ years of related finance experience

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $111400.00 - $206800.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $100200.00 - $186200.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $89100.00 - $165500.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
