Standard Job Description
Administers workers compensation activities for assigned locations and jurisdictions and serves as a key liaison among injured employees, leaders, internal partners, medical providers, third-party administrators, nurse case managers, vendors, and legal counsel. Supports the full claim lifecycle in accordance with company policies and applicable state and federal requirements.
As the Workers Compensation Analyst Senior, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Reports claims promptly and accurately and provides required wage, incident, job, employee, and medical-status information within established timeframes.
- Coordinates claim investigations and gathers information from employees, supervisors, Environment, Safety & Health, Human Resources, Medical, Payroll, Security, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinates with third-party administrators, nurse case managers, medical providers, and vendors to support appropriate treatment, claim strategy, and timely resolution.
- Manages return-to-work and transitional-duty activities, obtains work-status documentation, identifies suitable duties, and tracks lost-time and modified-duty cases.
- Reviews open claims, analyzes loss information and trends, documents action items, follows up on outstanding issues, and escalates significant risks or barriers.
- Supports litigation, reserve, and settlement activities within delegated authority in coordination with Legal, the third-party administrator, and outside counsel.
- Maintains complete, timely, accurate, and confidential claim records and prepares reports, loss runs, metrics, and claim-review materials.
- Educates injured employees, supervisors, and partner organizations on timely reporting, medical care, work restrictions, return-to-work expectations, and the workers compensation process.
- Escalates catastrophic losses, suspected fraud, subrogation opportunities, and other high-risk matters in accordance with company requirements.
- Helps improve program procedures, provider networks, and claim-management practices.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Human Resources, Business, Risk Management, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and combined education
- Experience supporting workers compensation, disability, leave, claims, insurance, risk management, human resources, or a related function
- At least 3 years of related professional experience required
- Proficiency in workers compensation claim reporting, investigation, medical and wage documentation, work restrictions, and return-to-work practices
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while meeting time-sensitive deadlines
- Experience coordinating sensitive matters with employees, leaders, service providers, and cross-functional partners
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, follow-through, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality when handling medical, personnel, legal, and claim information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
Desired Skills
- Professional workers compensation experience in a multi-state, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other complex industrial environment
- Working knowledge of workers compensation laws, benefits, compensability principles, state forms, litigation processes, reserves, settlements, subrogation, and catastrophic-loss reporting
- Experience partnering with a third-party administrator, insurance carrier, nurse case management provider, medical network, or defense counsel
- Experience managing transitional-duty and return-to-work programs and tracking lost-time and modified-duty cases
- Experience conducting claim reviews, analyzing loss runs and trends, and driving action items to closure
- Experience with claim, occupational health, incident-management, human resources, and document-management systems such as Origami, GRA, OHM, mySedgwick, or Enablon
- Experience providing workers compensation training or guidance to supervisors, employees, and cross-functional partners
- At least 5 years of related professional experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to recognize claim barriers, suspicious activity, litigation risk, and opportunities for early intervention or subrogation
- Workers compensation, claims, risk management, disability management, or related professional certification
- Ability to build effective relationships and influence outcomes across a diverse, geographically dispersed organization

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $90600.00 - $168200.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $81500.00 - $151300.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $72500.00 - $134600.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $65200.00 - $121200.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
