Posting Start Date:  9/30/26

Standard Job Description

The AI Factory UX team is seeking a Senior UX Designer / UX Engineer to design and build intuitive, high-quality user experiences for internal and commercial AI products. This role sits at the intersection of user experience design and front-end engineering. You'll take experiences from user needs and early concepts through wireframes and interactive prototypes to functional, production-quality interfaces. You'll collaborate closely with UX designers, software and AI/ML engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to turn complex AI capabilities into experiences that are understandable, useful, efficient, and trustworthy. This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally at home shaping an experience with design tools and bringing it to life in code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design user-centered products: Own user flows, wireframes, interaction design, and high-fidelity prototypes, translating user needs and product requirements into clear, effective experiences.
  • Implement front-end interfaces: Build responsive, accessible, reusable components using modern web technologies.
  • Collaborate: Partner with operations, engineers, product owners, AI/ML teams, and stakeholders to deliver deployed AI products and internal tools.
  • Prototype and validate: Build high-fidelity prototypes and proofs of concept to explore new interaction models, test technical feasibility, and accelerate product decisions.
  • Bridge design and development: Carry designs into scalable production solutions while preserving usability and interaction quality.
  • Build and maintain design systems: Contribute to shared design systems, UI component libraries, interaction patterns, and front-end standards.
  • Champion research and iteration: Support user research, usability testing, and design reviews to continuously improve the experience.
  • Advocate for quality: Uphold usability, accessibility, and consistency throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Explore AI-native UX: Investigate emerging patterns for AI products. This includes conversational interfaces, human-AI collaboration, model confidence and feedback, explainability, data visualization, and intelligent workflow automation.

Presents large and complex data in a usable, understandable, and appealing way. These designers are artists that are passionate about providing a data experience who also have a technical background. They often have many tools and techniques available to them and know how to use them for maximum impact. They are capable of building data visualization stacks to support the real-time evaluation of processes. Design user interfaces/experiences that align data insights with the users goals and needs; Designs visualizations to trigger user decision and action; Effectively document and communicate UX and visual design of projects (including rationale/benefits) using personas, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, workflows, user stories, test dashboards and visualizations; Leverage quantitative and qualitative user research and participatory design activities to identify user needs, help in requirements definition, user testing, and usability evaluations.

What You'll Bring

You're equally comfortable opening Figma and an IDE. You care deeply about interaction details, visual quality, accessibility, and user outcomes - and you're just as invested in how an experience is actually implemented. You have a talent for turning complex technical capabilities into simple, effective experiences.

Important Role Clarification

This is not a front-end developer role that receives finished designs, and at the same time it is not a pure UX design role that stops at handoff. As a UX Designer and UX Engineer, you're expected to contribute to both defining the user experience and implementing it.

Basic Qualifications

  • Professional experience in UX design, interaction design, front-end development, product design, design technology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to design effective user interfaces and interaction patterns using user-centered design principles.
  • Demonstrated experience developing production-quality web interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, Vue, or comparable technology.
  • Proficiency with UX design and prototyping tools such as Figma or the Adobe Suite (or comparable platforms).
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility, usability, and modern front-end development practices.
  • Ability to communicate design decisions and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional product or software development teams.

Desired Skills

  • Hands-on experience building interfaces with React, Next.js, and component libraries such as shadcn/ui, including familiarity with testing tools like Playwright.
  • Experience with TypeScript, component-based architectures, and modern front-end tooling.
  • Experience creating or contributing to a design system and reusable UI component library.
  • Experience designing enterprise applications, complex workflow-driven products, dashboards, analytics tools, or developer-facing products.
  • Experience conducting or supporting user research, usability testing, and iterative discovery.
  • Understanding of Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards and accessible front-end implementation.
  • Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and how front-end applications integrate with backend services.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, generative AI, or large language models.
  • Experience rapidly prototyping emerging technologies and evaluating new interaction models.
  • Experience with data visualization and presenting complex or uncertain AI-generated information clearly.
