This role will offer you the following daily challenges:

In this role, you'll be a Subcontract Manager, mainly being responsible for the management of supplier cost, schedule, and technical performance for RF Payload hardware portfolios as well as other hardware portfolios that may benefit from this position. You will be accountable for managing subcontracts throughout their entire life cycle — starting from proposal phases, through execution, full delivery of the work product, and into closeout for multiple programs and Lockheed Martin line of businesses.

You will play a critical part in developing and executing contractual relationships with our supplier base as well as internal Lockheed Martin Stakeholders. Each day will be unique as you serve as the face of the Subcontract Management Team, solving complex supplier performance issues, leading trade evaluations, and driving strategic initiatives for your hardware portfolio.  You'll have a lasting impact on our bottom line by controlling costs through negotiations. 

Candidates must comply to purchasing policies, procedures, and program requirements. You are responsible for subcontract lifecycle activities on multiple programs, with specific support to the Space Supply Chain Enterprise Strategic Sourcing (ESS) organization.

This position is CONTINGENT upon contract award and/or funding anticipated late 4Q2026.

Basic Qualifications

To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education,
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Supply Chain Management (i.e… Procurement, Subcontract Administration, Subcontract Management, Negotiation, and/or Category Management), 
  • Previous experience with procurement processes and regulations under DoD (FAR, DFAR, TINA, and or ITAR).
  • Knowledge of SAP Purchasing System, PO Folders, procedures, or other ERP system.
  • Experience with managing suppliers, including management of Cost, Technical, Schedule, Risk and Opportunities.
  • You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Skills

To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

  • Masters Degree.
  • Demonstrated subcontract experience to include development of RFP's, complex statements of Work, proposal evaluation criteria, and source selection criteria
  • Previous LM Space experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships
  • Independent self-starter with a sense of urgency and strong ownership of work.
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven record of proactive engagement and communication with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to interface with suppliers, internal customers, and external customers.
  • Well versed in FAR/DFAR and LM Acquisition procedures.
  • Ability to multi task in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated strategic communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, and stakeholders with an ability to persuade and motivate action.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $100200.00 - $186200.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
