Join the Kanata Operations Team! We are looking for a talented and motivated Production Control Coop to work within the Production Control team to help plan and prepare production work.  

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Production Planning: Develop and maintain production schedules that align with company objectives and customer requirements. considering factors like demand forecasts, production capacity, inventory levels, and resource availability.  Optimize the allocation of human resources, machinery, and equipment to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
  • Material Management: Coordinate with the procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components required for production.
  • Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that production processes adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements, and performance of the PMT metrics is critical to the business.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports on production performance, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work on process improvements, implement lean 6S manufacturing principles, and drive efficiency gains.
  • Communication & Coordination: Liaise with various departments (production, purchasing, quality, maintenance and Engineering) to ensure alignment and smooth operations. Take a leading role in cross functional efforts to coordinate solutions, actions or achieve continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Commerce, Business Operations and Management or Supply Chain diploma or degree program or related field
  • Experience in an ERP/MRP system such as SAP
  • Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies
  • Candidate must be available for four (4) months, starting January 2027 and will be 100% onsite

Desired Skills

  • Previous Manufacturing experience would be an asset
