Standard Job Description
Basic Qualifications
Equipment Maintenance & Inspection: Regularly inspect, clean, and repair specialized SAR equipment, including ropes, harnesses, radios, personal protective equipment (PPE), and medical kits to meet safety standards.
Vehicle & Specialized Equipment Upkeep: Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, trailers, ATVs, boats, or snowmobiles, such as checking fluids, tire pressure, and ensuring emergency lighting is functional.
Facility Maintenance: Maintain the SAR station or facility, including cleaning, lighting, heating/HVAC systems, and general repairs to ensure a safe working environment.
Inventory Management: Track and order necessary supplies, parts, and safety gear, ensuring replacements are on hand to prevent downtime.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all gear and facilities comply with safety regulations, such as checking fire alarms, emergency exits, and proper hazardous material storage.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of maintenance activities, repairs, and safety checks on all equipment and vehicles.
Emergency Response Support: Ensure all critical equipment is loaded or ready for deployment immediately upon request
Desired Skills
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using tools for basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy rescue gear (often over 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose issues with equipment and perform repairs under pressure.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $65200.00 - $121200.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
