Lockheed Martin Space and Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) is seeking a proactive Sr Staff Project Engineer to support the D5LE2 Systems Engineering Directorate. The D5LE2 missile program represents the next generation evolution of the proven D5LE system, delivering modernized capabilities to our Navy customer. The Sr Staff Project Engineer will be a critical integration point of contact for the Systems Engineering Directorate and the Program as we look to drive the development of the missile system forward. The candidate in this role will act as a key, critical access point to drive program integration, ensure execution across the entire development program, represent SEIT to the program, Navy customer and outside stakeholders as needed. 

The job duties will consist of the following:

Advise and collaborate with key stakeholders across the LE2 organization to drive initiatives and results, ensuring technical needs and disciplines are met
Manage, organize, lead, and facilitate process improvement events and key strategies spanning across LE2 that will create efficiencies and an aligned and integrated organization. 
Drive collaboration between Strategic Planning, Proposal Team, Subsystem Design Teams, Embedded Systems Engineering, D5LE, Co-Contractors and others
Act as a key techincal and programmatic representative to ensure uniformity and commonality in execution at all levels

Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering
  • Experience with program or large project integration
  • Design experience utilizing Model Based Engineering tools
  • Experience with project planning tools such as Open Plan or MS Project
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Desired Skills

  • Missile/Space Weapons Systems Experience
  • Proven self-starter with demonstrated capability to proactively work through difficult technical, project and resource challenges
  • 12+ years of experience in large program Configuration, assembly, and design integrations
  • Demonstrated performance of bringing program through development reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
  • Strong full spectrum leadership with demonstrated experience in leading teams and working cross Integrated Product Teams by building effective relationships
  • Active or Current DoD Secret Security Clearance 
  • Experience leading a small to medium sized team through change and new intiatives
  • Experience with Earned Value Management 
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
